The maximum number of pigs to be supplied is actually that pigs are eating 24 hours a day, which will affect the daily weight gain and feed to meat ratio of pigs. Some experiments also show that the feed to meat ratio of 10 pigs in each feeding position of the dry and wet feeder is lower than that of 20 pigs.

There is another phenomenon that we need to pay attention to. In fact, the feeding time of pigs decreases with the age and weight.

There are two issues to consider:

The feed waste rate may be higher when the pig is small. Does the setting of feeder need to consider more factors of the pig?

The feeding time of piglets is long, and sometimes the lack of feeding position occurs at the younger age.

In general, there are the following suggestions for each feeding position for several pigs:

1. The dry feeder can feed 8-10 pigs at each level;

2. Each feeder can feed 12 pigs;

3. The pic Manual of tubular feeders (more commonly used in China) gives a suggestion that 11 pigs per side and 51mm per pig according to the length of the trough, which is actually much lower than the standard of 30-35 pigs per trough.

My opinions on the selection of material trough are mainly as follows for your reference

1. It is better to use wet and dry feeder to improve the intake of powder, and the particle material will not have much influence.

2. The tube feeder will increase the fighting situation, but his experimental results seem to be good.

3. Pay attention to the size of material level to meet the needs of the largest pig (see above for specific indicators).

4. The number of pigs in each feeding position tube should be considered according to the feeding speed when the pigs are young.

  It is suggested that the stainless steel trough should be used in the future. There is an effective barrier from each bin to the head. The index of several pigs provided for each bin can be slightly lower. It is helpful for daily gain and feed to meat ratio. After all, compared with the feed cost for a long time, the one-time cost input of the feeder is very limited.
